Chassis after sandblasting and powder coating.

This Mk3 '289' is currently receiving a full body off restoration, the chassis has been powder coated for maximum protection.

The next stage was to fabricate and fit a complete new set of inner panels, and the attach them to the body frame before the fitting of the outer body panels. The original front end panel assembly has been extensively reworked, fitting new panels where necessary, then refitted to the body frame.

The rear end panel assembly was in extremely poor condition, as were the door skins and bonnet skin, these were discarded, and then new panels were manufactured and fitted.

Once the body was complete, a detachable head protecting roll cage was made and fitted, as the owner wants to use the car on the track as well as the road.
