Bodylines
was established by myself (Alan Pointer) in March 1988, after fifteen
years of involvement with luxury car manufacturers, employed as a panel
beater, firstly with Rolls Royce Motors, then Aston Martin Lagonda.
After around twelve of those years, I decided to broaden my horizons, and
started using my experience of hand forming car body panels, in the
classic car restoration business, as a self-employed panel beater.
Eventually,
after realising there was a demand for my services, I formed Bodylines,
now I could employ other to help with an ever increasing workload.
I was fortunate enough to attract some young, freshly qualified panel
beaters from the Aston Martin factory, who, over the years have become
master craftsmen, experienced on almost every conceivable type of hand
built classic car.
Although Aston Martin's were our specialty, and still are, as on would probably
expect, it soon became apparent that there were many other marques that
would require our skills, and before long, our workshop was home to a
very wide range of British, French and Italian exotica.
We have worked on some of the finest, rarest, and sometimes, most expensive
competition and road car in the world, but whatever type of car we work
on, we believe that we produce as finer job as you will see anywhere.
Projects so far in 1999, either completed or current, include, amongst many,
Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, Ferrari 225'S', Ferrari 340, Ferrari 250
GTO, Aston Martin Ulster, Aston Martin speed model, 'D' Type Jaguar
replica, AC Cobra 289, Ferrari 750 Monza, 41/2 litre Bentley, and
numerous Aston Martin DB4, DB5, DB6 and V8's.
